Michel Casavant was born in Tracy (Quebec) in 1946. The self-taught painter has worked in his Montreal atelier for more than twenty-five years. His three-dimensional works are unclassifiable: they are the result of both building and painting. Some of them can be found in important private collections in Canada, the United States and Europe, while others are part of the collections of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
